Where is the historic district?
The district occupies part of 45th Avenue between 21st and 23rd Streets, with a row at 44-70–44-78 23rd Street. A Hunters Point address alone does not establish that a property falls within the designated boundary. Confirm the exact lot on LPC’s official map.
What was designated?
The Landmarks Preservation Commission designated the district on May 15, 1968. Its twelve inventory descriptions account for 47 buildings, including houses and apartment-house forms. Most date to the 1870s and 1880s, with a wood-house group dating to 1890.
